1. New academic session 2083 and teaching operation Different schedule between the metropolitan and federal governments:

👉 Although the Education and Human Resource Development Center has set a schedule for starting the admission campaign from 2083 Baishakh 15 and regular teaching from 21 Baishakh 20, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has decided to conduct regular teaching in all schools from 2083 Baishakh 15, exercising its jurisdiction.

👉 Direction to use only approved textbooks: The Center has issued strict instructions to all schools to use only the curricula and textbooks approved by the Government of Nepal at the school level for the academic session 2083.

2. Policy reforms:

👉 No exams till grade 5 and ban on student politicsUnder the government’s 100-day good governance reform agenda, internal examinations of students up to grade 5 at the school level have been completely abolished. Now their learning progress will be assessed through alternative and psychoanalytic methods.

👉 To improve the quality of higher education and make campuses free from politics, student politics has been completely banned in universities and colleges. In addition, a rule has been implemented that universities must publish results according to the academic calendar.

3. Complete ban on bridge courses and preparatory classes:

👉 The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has completely banned all bridge courses and entrance exam preparatory classes aimed at students who have taken the SEE and want to study higher education.

👉 To reduce the financial and psychological pressure on students and parents, it has been clarified that now admission to class 11 will be done only on the basis of the internal records of the student’s school and SEE results.

4. New practice in SEE answer sheet testing:

👉 A new model has been adopted in the answer sheet testing of this year’s SEE exam, which was conducted at 1,966 examination centers across the country and about 512,000 students participated.

👉 With the aim of publishing the results within a month, arrangements have been made to start testing the answer sheets at the examination center or at a convenient safe place within three days.

5. New Competency Framework for Life-Skill-Oriented Education:

👉 A draft of a new ‘National Transversal Competency Framework’ is being prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and UNESCO to make Nepal’s education practical and life-oriented.Discussions have been taken forward to prepare students in six main domains,

👉 Including not only book knowledge, but also sustainable living skills, environmental awareness, financial literacy, and digital skills.
