Here is major Educational News of the Week (Chaitra 21 – 28, 2082)
### 1. New Academic Session (2083) and Admission Schedule*
**Start of Academic Session:** The meeting of the Council of Ministers has decided to start the upcoming new academic session (2083) from Baisakh 15. In the past, it was the practice to start the academic session from the first week of Baisakh.*
**Admission and Teaching:** According to the information issued by the Education and Human Resource Development Center, the student admission campaign will start from **Baisakh 15** while regular teaching will be conducted from **Baisakh 21**
**Ministry’s Request:** The Ministry of Education has warned all educational institutions not to enroll students before the start of the new academic session.
### 2. Two-day public holiday and stakeholder response*
**Holiday decision:** The government has decided to give two days of public holiday a week (**Saturday and Sunday**) to educational institutions and government offices. The office hours of other than educational institutions are fixed from 9 am to 5 pm.*
**National PABSON’s concern:** The private schools’ organization National PABSON has expressed serious concern, saying that the government’s decision to give two days of public holiday will affect the annual academic calendar and the learning period of students.
### 3. New arrangement in SEE examination and publication of results*
**Examination conduct and result target:** The SEE examination has started across the country. This time, the National Examination Board has passed a new procedure to make the results public within a maximum of one month from the end of the examination.*
**Strictness in answer sheet examination:** According to the new procedure, it has been arranged that the answer sheet should be checked within three days. Examiners who are negligent in checking the answer sheet have been warned that strict action will be taken.
### 4. Controversy over Bridge Course and Entrance Classes*
**Directions and Protests:** The Education Minister had initially directed to close all types of Bridge Course and Entrance Preparation Classes from April 1. This decision was widely opposed by stakeholders.*
**Revision in Decision:** Following the protests, the Ministry of Education has come to a modified conclusion to close **School Level Entrance Preparation Classes and Bridge Courses only
